New Air Traffic Control Tower

A major milestone in the construction of the new air traffic control tower at Newcastle International Airport occurred on 20th March 2007 when the 40 tonne sub equipment room structure was lifted into place.
Work on the tower continues on programme for completion of the building works at the end of May 2007. A technical fit-out by National Air Traffic Services will then follow with the building becoming fully operational by November 2007.
