Building Surveying
Hall & Partner’s surveyors work with clients to formulate development briefs to utilise our
specialist knowledge of the construction industry and property management enabling us to
assist clients in protecting and maintaining their property interests. Our team advises
on problems with single buildings or the maintenance and management of a complete property
portfolio, while utilising developed cost control and management systems.
Services include:
Building Surveying/Defect Inspections
Building /Defect surveys are commissioned to report on the cause and remedy for specific
defects, affecting a particular structure. A building survey can be further refined into
a detailed schedule of condition. This details the condition of a building, together
with photographic evidence and enables the end user to have a ready robust defence
against claims arising from interim or terminal schedules of dilapidations.
Measured Surveys
Providing detailed or footprint layouts, tailored to suit the needs of the client.
Refurbishment Projects
A survey may be commissioned if a building is to be substantially modernised or refurbished.
Our approach offers substantial support to the survey, with our detailed and accurate building
cost advice and design and management of the construction process to completion.
Asset Management/Decent Homes
In 2000, the government issued the document "Quality and Choice": a decent home for all;
the way forward for Housing”. This contained a promise that by 2010 all public sector homes
would meet a prescribed standard.
We undertake large scale asset management surveys on behalf of local authorities/ALMO´s
and housing associations to record and present the information on Stock Condition in a
manner which is capable of interrogation to provide rapid access to elemental cost and
life cycle expectancies of the principals components of construction.
Party Wall Advice
Hall & Partner’s advice ensures our client comply with the provisions of the
Party Wall Act Etc 1996. Failure to adhere to the requirements of this Act during the
early stages of a project may lead to expensive delays.
Asbestos Surveys

Certificate P405 accredited. We manage removal contracts and ensure clients comply with the
Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002, particularly the “Duty to Manage”.
